GLIMPSE ON A DANCEFLOOR (2023 - 2025)

“Sweat, touch, breath, rhythm.” Glimpse on a Dancefloor is a photographic series that offers a visceral and intimate exploration of the collective ritual of dance. Shot between 2023 and 2025 during various editions of the Nomad Festival in Palermo, Al Salerno captures the raw tension between body and space, light and shadow, individuality and belonging. Captured entirely on 35mm film, the photographs evoke the spirit of classic disco photography from the '70s and '80s, revealing the magnetic energy and human connection that fuel these nocturnal gatherings charged with a potent mix of eros, tension, and electric anticipation. These images do not simply document the event; they reveal what moves beneath the surface - the primal human need to express, to connect, to surrender, and ultimately, to dissolve into the crowd.
